FAQ

Can my dress be customized?

Absolutely! Each collection gown has multiple customization options to finish it to your taste. We can change the silhouette, color, and fabrics as well as alter the neckline shape or depth, or lengthen or shorten sleeves. We can add a little more bling- or a lot more bling. We can add some extra lace or finish it with some covered buttons. The possibilities are virtually endless. You can see a list of customization options for each collection dress on its page.

If you’re wanting a superior fit we also offer custom sizing by offering a made to measure option.

When should I start shopping?

If you’d like to purchase a gown from our collection we recommend purchasing 5-8 months in advance of your wedding. Production time for your gown can be 4-6 months and you’ll need some time before the wedding to have alterations completed.

If you’re interested in a Custom Couture Gown we recommend doing a consultation 6-12 months in advance of your wedding. This experience takes a little more time as a pattern is created just for you and new materials may need to be sourced.

If you’re on a shorter timeline send us an email at hello@KathrynLeeBridal.com and we’ll see what we can do!

What is the price range of a Kathryn Lee Bridal gown?

Collection gowns range from $3000-$6000 depending on the customization options you select for yourself.

Custom couture gowns begin at $3000. Individual pricing is determined by the fabrics and laces selected and the complexity of the dress. To give you a quote on your custom gown we will want to discuss your design and materials. To receive more information on a custom gown we will gladly send you a packet with all the details. Send us a note on the Contact page and select I’m interested in a custom couture gown.

Tell me more about the custom couture experience?

If you’re looking for a completely original gown made just for you then you’ve found the right designer to make it for you. The initial consultation can be done in person in our atelier or via skype and email correspondence. Designer Kate Nickols listens to your requests and sketches options to create the perfect look you’ve been dreaming about. We look at (or mail you) fabric and lace samples to select what is best for your design, complexion, and silhouette. Our team of seamstresses creates a sample dress for you to try on during the initial fitting. During this fitting your dress design is finalized and details are discussed. Fittings can be done in our atelier in Lenexa, Kansas or in the convenience of your city. After alterations are made, our team gets to work on bringing your dress to life before your final fitting.

Do you do alterations?

We do not do alterations on collection gowns and recommend finding a local seamstress or alterations shop that specializes in bridal alterations. We recommend allowing a month before your wedding for alterations. Made to measure gowns may need minor adjustments. Custom couture gowns include fittings and alterations.

How do I take care of my gown?

All gowns are made of fine fabrics and embellishments are sewn by hand. It is important that your gown be well cared for and dry cleaned only. We recommend taking your gown to a reputable dry cleaner who specializes in bridal gowns.
